How the instant estimate is calculated
Your file is measured in the browser — volume, bounding box, surface area and wall solidity — and priced per process: FDM by material volume and print time, SLA and PolyJet by resin volume and layer height, SLS by nested build volume, castable wax by pattern volume. Quantity breaks apply automatically. An engineer reviews every order within one business day and confirms the price before anything prints.

What happens after you upload
- You see a price on screen and submit the quote — it stays valid for 30 days.
- An engineer checks wall thickness, overhangs and orientation and emails a confirmed quote, usually the same day.
- You approve and pay; printing starts.
- Parts are inspected, finished to your spec, and shipped or held for pickup.

- What file types work?
- STL, OBJ and 3MF files price instantly in the browser. STEP, IGES and Rhino 3DM files are welcome through the request form and are quoted within one business day.
- Is there a minimum order?
- No minimum order. Quantity price breaks apply automatically as you raise the quantity, and a small process minimum may apply to very small single parts.
- What is the minimum wall thickness?
- About 1.0 mm for FDM, 0.4 mm for SLA resin, 0.8 mm for SLS nylon, 0.6 mm for PolyJet and 0.3 mm for castable wax. The estimator flags thin walls and non-watertight meshes before you submit.
- How big can a part be?
- Up to 350 x 350 x 350 mm in FDM, 353 x 196 x 350 mm in SLA, 330 x 330 x 565 mm in SLS, 490 x 390 x 200 mm in PolyJet and 294 x 211 x 144 mm in castable wax. Larger parts can be split and bonded; ask in the notes.
- How fast can I get parts?
- Standard turnaround is 3 to 5 business days and rush is 1 to 3 business days. Many FDM and castable wax parts uploaded before noon Pacific can be picked up the same day at our Glendale studio.
- Are my files confidential?
- Files are analyzed in your browser and are only stored after you submit a quote. We sign NDAs on request and never publish client work without permission.
- Can you finish or paint the parts?
- Yes. Sanding, priming, painting, dyeing, vapor smoothing, clear coat and optical polishing can be added per part in the estimator or quoted separately.
- Do you print in metal?
- Stainless steel 316L and titanium Ti-6Al-4V are quoted by an engineer rather than instantly. Select the metal option or use the request form.
