The scan mesh is then converted into a clean CAD model through reverse engineering, where we rebuild the part’s true design intent: restoring symmetry, sharpening worn edges, and correcting damage. What Parts Can Be Reproduced?

Almost anything that unbolts from the car can be scanned and reproduced. Common requests we see include interior trim pieces, knobs, and switch bezels; emblems, badges, and grille components; brackets, clips, and mounting hardware; dashboard components and vent housings; lenses and light housings; intake components and carburetor parts; and side mirrors and exterior trim.

Chrome and highly reflective parts scan poorly in their raw state, but a light temporary matting spray solves that without harming the finish. Even heavily pitted or corroded parts usually retain enough geometry to reconstruct.

Once a clean CAD model exists, there are several paths to a physical part.

3D Printing

For prototypes and many end-use parts, 3D printing is the fastest route. SLS nylon works well for clips and brackets, SLA resin captures fine detail on trim and emblems, and DMLS metal printing can produce functional metal components directly.

Casting and Machining

The CAD model can also drive traditional manufacturing — CNC machining for billet aluminum parts, or investment casting when you need the part in the original alloy. For decorative pieces, a printed master can be used to cast metal parts that are then plated or polished.

Small Production Runs

If you run a restoration shop and need the same obsolete part repeatedly, one scan becomes a permanent digital inventory.
