Metal 3D Printing Services in Los Angeles (DMLS)

Direct Metal Laser Sintering (DMLS) builds fully dense metal parts directly from your CAD file — in stainless steel, aluminum, and titanium. Complex internal channels, lightweight lattices, and consolidated assemblies that machining can’t produce come out of the printer as a single strong component. Quoted and managed from our Glendale studio, with delivery anywhere in the LA area or nationwide.

How DMLS Works

A high-power laser sinters fine metal powder layer by layer, fusing each cross-section of your part into solid metal. The process produces near-fully-dense parts with mechanical properties comparable to wrought material — which is why DMLS parts fly in aerospace and run in production machinery.

What Metal Printing Is Best For

Small DMLS components typically start in the low hundreds of dollars — often far cheaper than machining a one-off from billet. Pricing details in our 3D printing cost guide.

DMLS vs Other Technologies

If plastic will do the job, SLS or MJF nylon costs far less. For visual metal-look models, FDM in metal-fill PLA is an economical stand-in. But when the part must BE metal — strength, temperature, certification — DMLS is the direct route from CAD to component.

Metal 3D Printing FAQs

How strong are DMLS parts?

Near-fully dense with properties comparable to wrought material in many alloys — DMLS parts are used in aerospace, medical, and industrial production, not just prototyping.

How much does metal 3D printing cost?

Small components typically start in the low hundreds and rise with size and material — titanium costs more than stainless. Send your file for a same-day quote.

Can you recreate a metal part that’s no longer made?

Yes — this is one of our specialties. We 3D scan the original, rebuild it as an editable CAD model, and print it in metal.

Do printed metal parts need post-processing?

Usually some — support removal, heat treatment, and surface finishing depending on the application. We include the required steps in every quote so there are no surprises.
